Gal(lo)way Girl

It’s been a few months now that I’ve been back on the run and I’m feeling great! I’m still taking it easy and have been following the Galloway style of running. I’m not going to lie, I wish I would have started using the Galloway method years ago. I really think I could have prevented 2 other injuries, AND my short-distance pace is actually better than it used to be. I’ll see how it affects my long-distance pace in the coming months.

It’s hard to believe it has been 8 months since my achilles injury.  It has been a long road getting back into running, but it has been worth it every step of the way.  I’ve learned even more about running dynamics (especially my own) and the importance of the pre- and post-run stretch, and rest.  Rest is so important, and I’ve always known this but failed to listen in the past.  Giving your body the necessary time it needs to recover from work is vital to its performance.  I’ve finally come to understand what that means, and I rest a lot more than I used to.  Guess what?  With that increased rest, my body is performing better than it ever has in the last 10 years!

I wonder if Ed Sheeran runs for fun?  😉
